Jubilee

The jubilee festival consisted of a series of rituals of
royal renewal that seem to have originated at the beginning of Egyptian
history. The king's jubilee was first celebrated thirty years after his
accession and thereafter at shorter intervals. The climax of the
festival occurred when the king's rule over the Two Kingdoms was re-established at his enthronement in a special pavillion - the jubilee
pavillion. |
